‘I Wanted To Die’: Syria’s Torture Survivors Speak Out - 14 March 2012
On 14 March 2012, Amnesty International released a report entitled ‘I wanted to die’: Syria’s torture survivors speak out, which documents the accounts of people who were detained and tortured in Syria since March 2011 and were interviewed by Amnesty International in Jordan in February 2012.
The accounts provide disturbing evidence of both the wide range of torture methods devised and used by Syria’s security forces, and the consistent patterns of abuse being perpetrated by various security forces across Syria.
